Alzheimers Walk

DELAWARE/MARYLAND - As September hits the road and October gets started, several events are planned-- many rescheduled from last weekends inclement weather. Here are some cool things to do this weekend:

WALK TO END ALZHEIMERS

Postponed from last weekend, the Walk to End Alzheimers takes place in Rehoboth Beach on Saturday, with CoastTV's own Mallory Metzner emceeing the promise garden ceremony. It all begins at 10 a.m. at the bandstand. Walkers will be carrying flowers of many different colors signifying their reason for fighting to end the disease.

MILFORD LADYBUG FESTIVAL

The fourth annual Milford Ladybug Music Festival takes place this weekend featuring a female-fronted lineup. The event will have non-stop music from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, with Sunday put aside as a rain date.

GOLDEN JUBILEE

The Golden Jubilee is set to take place in Dewey Beach this weekend. The event celebrates the Golden Retriever and the Morris Foundation's lifetime study of the breed.

HAUNTED HALLWAY

This spooky Halloween event takes place at Cape Henlopen High School Saturday. It features tarot readers, authors, candle makers, and more that are part of over 100 vendors selling their haunting wares. It takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

MILLVILLE OKTOBERFEST

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY

The second annual Millville Oktoberfest event is taking place this weekend. It will feature free concerts in Evans park along with over 15 local breweries. It takes place on Saturday, which will move to Sunday in case of rain.

BARKTOBERFEST

Who says dogs can't get in on the Oktoberfest fun? Hudson fields is having a Barktoberfest celebration on Saturday. It will have a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, carnival games, a kids zone, and dog adoption. It takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

HISTORY BOOK FESTIVAL

The 7th Annual History Book Festival takes place this weekend. During that time, 24 different authors will be discussing their books at many different places across Lewes. They are expecting over 2,000 people to make their way to Lewes for the event. 

SHORE LIVING EXPO

Draper Media's own Shore Living Expo takes place this weekend, celebrating health, wealth, and home. It features live demonstrations, and many local vendors selling crafts and home products. It's free to get in, and takes place at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE COAST DAY

The University of Delaware's Coast Day is taking place Sunday, highlighting the research done by the college of Earth, Ocean, and Environment. The annual event features climate change, sea level rise and missing vessel demonstrations, and more! It will feature more than 30 vendors with their own exhibits, and 30 more feature ocean and coastal research. It takes place at the Hugh R. Sharp Campus in Lewes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
