Fingerprint Leads to Arrest Made in Dollar Tree Robbery

(DOVER, Del.)- The discovery of a fingerprint left on the demand note used during the Dollar Tree robbery has led to the arrest of Sean Wayda of Laurel, Maryland.

Wayda left the note at the scene when he fled after robbing the Dollar Tree shortly before 9:00PM on Thursday, August 13th.

The Dover Police Department's Crime Scene Investigations Unit recovered the note and processed it for fingerprints and a positive identification was made.

Wayda was later arrested by the Prince George's County Police Department.

Wayda is currently being held in Maryland, awaiting extradition to Delaware where he faces the following charges:

Robbery 1st Degree

Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony

Aggravated Menacing (x2)
