REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- The vacant building where The Pond use to be, now has a new owner. Freddie's Beach Bar and Restaurant will be moving in to the location on First Street, just off Rehoboth Avenue. The new owner tells WRDE he signed the lease last night, and they will get the keys on March 1st and start painting things purple. The owner says the ultimate goal is to be open by Memorial Day, but there are permits and other things that still stand in the way. According to the restaurant's website it's another LGBTQ+ and straight friendly bar. The owner says he's excited to bring Freddie's to downtown Rehoboth Beach.
