Funland to Extend Season Until the End of September

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- For the first time ever, the end of the summer season does not mean the end of Funland. Funland will remain open every weekend for the rest of the month.

After getting a late start this summer and not opening until July, they want to give people more time to enjoy all the fun.

"We as a family got together and thought that since we didn't open until the second week in July that we would take a chance," said Ian Curry with Funland.

Funland-fans made up for the time lost. By the end of August, it almost felt like a normal summer around the park.

"Being able to even open was such a huge thing. The season was good, the weather was great, the weather is still good so we are hopeful the rest of the season will be that way to," said Curry.

Friday through Sunday guests can register online for a 2-hour time slot, making it easier to social distance and best of all, avoid long lines. The same safety standards still apply. Everyone 3-years and older must wear a face covering. There will be a break between groups to clean all the rides.

With great feedback, Curry says we can expect some of these safety changes to stick around next season. Until then they expect people doing online school, those taking a late vacation, and any other Funland-fanatics to enjoy the thrill while they still can.
