(GEORGETOWN, Del.)- Georgetown Police Detectives responded to the 21000 block of Park Avenue for a theft complaint.
Through their investigation it was revealed that Christopher Altoe, 34, of Georgetown, was hired to do some construction work at the residence.
Altoe had the home owner exit the residence to approve the work that he had completed. When the homeowner was approving the work, Altoe entered the residence and removed a handgun from inside.
Altoe left the residence and fled in an unknown direction. Altoe was contacted and later turned himself in at the Georgetown Police Department.
On December 14, 2015, Georgetown Police responded to an address on Silverberry Street for a theft complaint. It was learned that Altoe was at this residence on December 8, 2015, where he removed jewelry from inside the residence. Altoe then pawned the jewelry at a business in Lewes.
Altoe was charged with Theft of a firearm, Burglary 2nd Degree, and Possession of a Firearm by persons prohibited for the first incident. He was committed to the Department of Correction in lieu of $15,000.00 cash Altoe was charged for Burglary 2nd degree, theft from a person 62 years or older, theft by false pretense, and falsifying business records from the second incident.
He was committed to the Department of Correction in lieu of $10,000.00 secured bond.
