Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce Sponsors Reverse Easter Egg Hunt

GEORGETOWN, Del.- It may not be the same as running around and grabbing as many eggs as you can, but it still put smiles on kids’ faces.

The Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce sponsored a reverse Easter egg hunt for children at the circle. They were able to say hello to the Easter Bunny and receive a bag of eggs filled with goodies.

19th District Senator Brian Pettyjohn came up with the idea to resemble the reverse Christmas parade held over the winter. Mayor Bill West and Chamber of Commerce President Linda say this was all for the children and the community.

"Last year, Senator Pettyjohn drove his trailer up here and played music while his wife was the Easter Bunny," West said. "We had a lot of response from people just riding around."

"Everybody’s waving to everybody and it’s just so much fun and we couldn’t have a better day so why not," Price said.

Two pick up locations were going with numerous volunteers from the board and members of the chamber, Georgetown Police Department, local leaders and their families, and music provided by DJ Sky Brady.
