(HARRINGTON, Del.) - Three California women were arrested in Harrington Thursday for using stolen credit cards at a Rite Aid.
While on patrol Harrington Police responded to the Rite Aid located on South DuPont Highway after employees called reporting that three females were inside the store attempting to purchase gift cards with stolen credit cards. Officers arrived and encountered the three women inside the store. All three then fled on foot from officers and after a short foot pursuit all three were taken into custody.
The women were taken back to the Harrington Police Department for processing. During the course of the investigation police determined that the three females came to Delaware from California and obtained stolen credit cards. The females then went to stores in Denton, Maryland and Harrington and purchased gift cards with the stolen credit cards. While the females were in the Rite Aid in Harrington employees determined the cards were stolen and then contacted police.
Police identified the suspects as Kiare N. Davis 19, Articia Roane 24, and Quintina S. Degraffenreed 27, all of Oakland, CA. All three were charged with 8 counts of Possession of Burglar tools, 2 counts of Unlawful Use of a Payment Card, Conspiracy Second Degree, Resisting Arrest and Hindering Prosecution. All three were arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and each received a $11,000 secured bail. All three were then committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of bond.
