BETHANY BEACH, Del.) - A fire North of Bethany Beach has destroyed a home.
It was quiet today in the Cotton Patch Hills development in Bethany Beach but last night was another story.
A home on Cove Way caught fire late last night. The fire was reported around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday Night August 12, 2015. You could see flames shooting in the air from miles away.
Crews from numerous companies fought the fire in the Cotton Patch development, on the Bayside of Rt. 1. At one point a brush fire was started due to the house fire.
"I'm amazed there wasn't more damage to the surrounding houses," said Tom . I've never seen anything like it. It was an unbelievably hot big fire...at least 100 feet in the air.
Two neighboring homes were also damaged.
The two people inside were able to get out, and no injures were reported.
The Delaware Fire Marshall's Office is investigating.
