(LEWES, Del.) - Chris Pollinger and Hank Jones have been living in Heron Bay for about ten years.
They are patiently waiting for developers to get things done.
Pollinger says, "Well we have had a lot of issues with LC homes, not putting into our amenities. Some flooding issues, where the swale would over flow."
Jones adds, "All we want is everything fix that should be fixed."
Home owners like Pollinger in Heron Bay say LC Homes promised sidewalks and amenities such as a tennis court over ten years ago. Pollinger has attended Sussex County Council meetings to complain. New councilman I.G. Burton has heard their complaints.
Burton says, "We need to hold developers more accountable. What is the process I haven't got all the nuts and bolts yet. But it doesn't make sense that we give them the approval and then we don't follow up on inspection."
Heron Bay Associates said in a statement, "For approximately the last year and a half Heron Bay Associates has been diligently working with Sussex County and the Conservation District on the drainage issues at Heron Bay. Significant progress has been made and the developer will continue working with Sussex County until the issues are satisfactorily resolved. Additionally, the developer is continuing to work with Sussex County and the Community on the final plan and installation schedule for the amenities within Heron Bay."
The home owners say they just want a sit down with Louis Capano, from Louis Capano and Sons Management. Pollinger says "Our biggest thing is that Louis Capano wont sit and talked to us. We are really easy going people. We just want what we paid for."
