(Georgetown, Del) - Former lawmaker John Atkins won't have to serve any more jail time.
In Sussex County Superior Court in Georgetown Friday morning, August 17, 2018, he pleaded guilty to four misdemeanors. He had originally charged with felonies last month after being accused of harassing a woman he allegedly assaulted.
He could've served a year for each charge, but the judge suspended all but the 22 days he'd already served.
Atkins was also sentenced to G-P-S monitoring, but because of the lack of equipment, he's on home confinement until one is available.
Atkins can have no firearms for five years, must have a mental health evaluation and no contact with the victim.
