(LEWES,DE)-For the first time on Delmarva a local venue hosted a Olympic Sailing event. This year the Junior Olympic Saiing Festival took place at the Lewes Yact Club.
More than 150 families were involved and the racing happened for two days.
Liz Hauzchild experienced her first Junior Olympics.
"It is a one in a lifetime opportunity and we are so excited involved and we had to take advantage of it,"said Hauzchild.
Lauren O'Neal has been racing for several years and says she very excited to be in volved in this year's Junior Olympics experience. She is the skipper and said that is one reason she loves sailing.
"I like being in control and I love everything with it and I have know one to blame but myself when I don't do well,"said O'Neal.
Erin Fletcher was one of the volunteers that has been working hard to make this event a success.
"This event is very good for the area,"said Fletcher.
