REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Many people focus on New Year's resolutions this time of year, WRDE decided to change that and ask people what their favorite memory from the decade has been. A very unique event is coming up at the end of the year. As we turn the calendar to January, we will begin a new decade. As people walked up and down Rehoboth Avenue and the boardwalk we asked them, "What is your favorite memory over the last decade?" A lot of answers revolved around family. Jamy Jackson, from York, Pa., said, "I would say that our family has been coming down to the Eastern Shore over the holidays for Christmas for about the last 15 years and that's always my favorite memory." But the Ager family was thankful for the addition of a special someone to their family. The Ager family, from Lewes, said, "Our favorite memory, our family is the birth of our grandson Ethan and the son of Lucas and Lisa because he's a wonderful little boy." A lot of people focused on just one thing being their favorite memory, but one local business owner chose multiple things that he absolutely loved over the past decade. Bob Cartwright, who owns the Coffee Mill, said, "We just recently came off of community unity, to the Seawitch Festival, and our Christmas tree lighting, to the summer, the beach life. Just so many different things that make this the greatest place in the world you'd want to be." At Pet Wants in Rehoboth, this past decade brought in a new home for their store. And it was a huge accomplishment since Chad Miller, the owner, has been born and raised here. "[We opened] up our shop here on Rehoboth Avenue about three years ago. It's been delightful to meet some of the locals and just have fun with our products and meet their pets and inter-gauge with them and it was just very nice," Miller said. Of course, as we get closer to the New Year, everyone will have resolutions. But don't forget to take a step back and be grateful for what the last 10 years have brought you as well.
