MILLSBORO, Del.- The Marine Toys For Tots Foundation hosted a kickoff event Saturday at American Legion Post 28.
The Legion hosted musical acts while visitors brought new toys and dropped them into the donation boxes. Kickoff event leader Gary Maratta wanted to use the event as a springboard for donations and have the opportunity to get people together.
"We have a lot of people that are almost fearful to go to places and drop things off," Maratta said. We have 90 locations, 90 boxes distributed throughout the area of Sussex County for people to donate. We thought this year more than ever we needed a kickoff campaign to make people aware of the need.
Donations for Toys For Tots will be accepted through Mid-December.
