(BAY BRIDGE, Md.)- An afternoon police pursuit comes to an end on the Bay Bridge. The man, who carjacked a taxicab and led police on a 40-mile car chase, has been identified.
Maryland State Police say he's Chauncey Wayne Slaughter, 27, of Suitland.
Police say here's what happened: at around 2 p.m., Slaughter stole the cab at the Addison Road Metro stop, then drove it to the Bay Bridge while police were hot on his trail.
Slaughter, who was believed-to-be armed, was arrested on the bridge, about 40 miles from the Prince George's County metro station where the chase began.
Police say the carjacker suffered injuries that weren't life-threatening.
