REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- The Delmarva Blood Bank once again expanding outreach for donors, this time combining dollars and donors, at the Tanger Outlets. The blood bank is hoping that ease of access will help increase supply across Delmarva. The next time you're walking through Tanger Outlets and stopping in different stores you might end up passing by the Delmarva Blood Bank blood donation center right in the middle of the Tanger Outlets Seaside. They're hoping they can fill about 40 appointments a day and that can help them with the blood shortage they're going through right now. For people like Bill Gorski, the new donation center is closer than ever before. Bill Gorski, from Rehoboth Beach said, "I was supposed to go give next week down at the church and when I saw this in the paper, I looked it up online and I booked it today." The Blood Bank of Delmarva says the Tanger Outlets is the perfect place to reach more people both in and out of state. If you remember last week the blood bank announced it is in a blood shortage, and that's still the case. That's why newer places like the one in Dagsboro, and now this one in Rehoboth Beach are helping cut into the shortage. Tony Prado, with the Blood Bank of Delmarva said, "And it's all about getting to where the people are and making it convenient for them to donate blood as much as humanly possible and that's why we're excited to be here in partnership with Tanger Outlets." The blood bank says summer collections will be critical since most places still cannot hold blood drives. To easily find the donation spot, it's right between Osh Kosh and the Haggar outlet, making it easier for people like Gorski to help those who need it. Gorski said, "I like to help out. I mean I think it's a worthy cause if it can help somebody and I usually do the double red which I know helps a few more than just a couple of people I believe."
