(GEORGETOWN, Del.) - The Sports at the Beach complex brings Nerfpocalypse to our shoes. Nerfpocalypse is an outdoor nerf game for everyone-yes everyone, five and up. Brian Turner, Director of Activities created the game after seeing how popular Nerf Wars, the indoor Nerf game, has been.
With Nerfpocalypse players are given one of three roles. They are either a doctor, a survivor, or a zombie.
The game lasts for three hours and each participant has a chance to play each role.
"It's basically like a nerf scavenger hunt," Turner tells WRDE.
Survivors must hunt for a cure for the zombies using eight clues they are provided with. They have an hour to find where the cure-a glowing orb-has been hidden. If the survivors cannot find the orb within the given time frame than the zombies win.
Doctors work to keep the survivors alive by giving them lives as they embark on their mission.
Sports at the Beach would like to have this event once a month. There is a $15 dollar participation fee. If you arrive in a group of ten or more the cost is $10 each.
"Me and my friends in my neighborhood like to play with nerf guns around the neighborhood. So I thought it would be fun to have a nerf war around with a bunch of people," says student Bryce Wright.
