DELAWARE- Delaware moms unite! One local parent recently launched
TheDelawareMoms.com, a website to create communication and community for moms in the first state. A website created by moms, for moms. Creator, Ashley Rice, is a mom of six. "Society places so many incorrect views of motherhood and how you should be a perfect parent. I hope this site, locally, will create a place for moms where they will see, you don't have to be perfect," said Rice. The website lists fun and safe places to go, to get the family out of the house. It also has pregnancy tips, marriage advice, and gives ideas for crafts. Rice got the idea to create a safe space for moms, after moving to Delaware. "It's a very lonely time when you move to a new state. It's always interesting when you have kids because you try to find your niche, try to find where you fit in and as a stay at home mom it's super difficult because you don't have a work place to meet friends or a school to meet people," said Rice. Other topics include kid-safe essential oils, what moms should ask for for their birthdays, and how to make hand sanitizer. Rice says this is just the beginning. "Some kind of virtual playdates or virtual things in there to group people together little more. In the future, whenever the world gets to a new normal or whatever that will be, we do hope to have e
vents," said Rice. Until then she is inviting you to join the online world of motherhood, saying her biggest piece of advice to parents..don't be afraid to take a little time to yourself.
