SEAFORD, Del. - Delaware State Police are looking for a Lincoln man after they say he stole a Jeep Tuesday evening.

Just before 5:30 p.m. police received a call about a stolen car on Tharp Road. Police say a friend of the caller followed the Jeep to Concord Pond Road, then police found it. The driver of the Jeep, later identified as Dashaun Truitt, began to speed up. The trooper chased Truitt, trying to catch up.

Police say Truitt ultimately stuck a tombstone, then hit a tree, which disabled the Jeep at Henry Drive and Church Road. He ran from the car and now has a warrant including multiple felonies for theft of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief of more than $5,000 and disregarding a police officer signal.

Anyone with information regarding Truitt’s whereabouts is asked to contact Trooper First Class B. Pellegrini by calling 302-337-1090.
