Talks in Rehoboth Beach to make 30 minute parking spots more noticeable

The 30 minute parking spots in Rehoboth Beach can be easy to miss due to the size of the signs. The engineering group, the Rossi Group, made the recommendation to city officials to paint the spots a color or put markings at the end of the spots to more clearly indicate the spots to drivers.

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - The 30 minute parking spots in Rehoboth Beach can be easy to miss due to the size of the signs. The engineering group, the Rossi Group, made the recommendation to city officials to paint the spots a color or put markings at the end of the spots to more clearly indicate the spots to drivers.

One employee who works at Candy Kitchen, in downtown Rehoboth Beach, says a change to the spots is needed.

"A lot of people in the summer misuse them and people need those spots, and I look out all the time and so many times I see the car has been there for so long and I'll take note of it and that happens so repeatedly, so I think more clear markings will help."

Another employee in downtown Rehoboth Beach says that all parking space lines need to be repainted.

"It would be a lot more beneficial because most people can't really see the lines, they end up parking between two spots and then that takes up two spots other people could be using, and then the people who actually need them can't park there, and it's just a whole frustrating thing," explained Gage Balascio.

On Jan 9th. Rehoboth Beach officials decided to move forward with discussions to paint the spots, because they say violating 30 minute parking rules is a common problem in the city.
