(Cambridge, Md) - North Dorchester High School Choral students traveled to Broadneck High School in Annapolis just before Thanksgiving, on two separate weekends, to audition for the Maryland All State Chorus. Freshman Trinity Cephas was selected as an Alto in the Junior State Chorus. Senior Olivia Davidson (Alto), junior Kadie Laramore (Alto), and sophomore Seth Talley (Tenor) were selected for the Senior State Chorus.
Each student must learn a selected prepared accompanied piece, prepared A Capella selection, rhythmic and melodic sight reading and are judged on vocal characteristics. The Senior chorus members will travel to Baltimore, Maryland as part of the Maryland Music Educators Conference.
They will rehearse for two full days and perform on Sunday, February 12, 2017. The Junior chorus will travel to Towson and rehearse for two days with the practice culminating in a concert on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Their director, Mrs. Sabra Steward is extremely proud of their accomplishments.
