(OCEAN CITY, Md.)- Look out for more moving billboards on the Ocean City boardwalk. The town plans to roll out more tram advertisement.
Backlit signs will be plastered on the rear of the Ocean City boardwalk trams. It's a new approach to resort advertisement and new revenue for the resort.
The idea of selling ad space on trams was brought to the table in the spring of 2013, when the town received an unsolicited proposal from MGH Advertising.
Recently, the most aggressive response and highest bid came from McDonald's. The resort has eight trams. Officials said bids will soon open for interested companies.
