Ocean City Hotel Week Kicks Off as Summer Nears End

(OCEAN CITY, Md.) - Hotel Week is in full swing in Ocean City with over a dozen hotels offering deep discounts on accommodations as the summer nears the end.

The eighth annual Hotel Week kicked off on Aug. 26 for two full weeks of great deals in town.

"You can fit 11 people in there. We've got three bathrooms, a full kitchen. So just the location and the price, we couldn't beat it," said Andrea Ziegler, a guest at the Boarders Edge hotel on Baltimore Avenue.

Bayside and oceanside hotels are available at discounted rates. Some hotels are even offering free night stays to attract more visitors as the summer winds down.

"I got a free weekend getaway to come here to get away with my boys for the weekend," said Marguerite McGlotten, a visitor from Elkridge, Md. "We go on Priceline or whichever one is cheaper for us. I come with my sons and we come for the weekend but it's usually cheaper to come on the weekends and it's much calmer."

Over 17 businesses are participating in hotel week this year including the hotel Monte Carlo, Princess Royale, and the Comfort Inn Gold Coast. Hotel week does not include Labor Day weekend but does last through Sept. 9.
