(OCEAN PINES, Del.)- Ocean Pines police are investigating a domestic dispute that sent an Ocean City man to the hospital after being run over by a car with no one at the wheel.
Ocean Pines Police Chief David Massey tells WRDE, Debora Ellen Hileman, 56, Ocean Pines Realtor, and John Derrickson, of Ocean City, were arguing at a home on Leigh Drive in Ocean Pines Sept. 6, when the ordeal took a violent turn. Hileman's car slipped into gear and ran Derrickson over after he fell to the ground, police said. But here's the thing, no one was behind the wheel.
Although Hileman will not face criminal charges for the vehicle accident, she'll face a DUI charge, according to police.
Derrickson is recovering from injuries sustained in the accident at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.
Hileman is scheduled for a court hearing in Snow Hill on Nov. 20 for her DUI charge.
