After graduating from James M. Bennett High School and McDaniel College, Officer Spencer Wiersberg quickly jumped into his long-desired career of becoming a police officer in the Fruitland Police Department. In early 2019, he was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma. On January 12, 2020, Officer Spencer Wiersberg answered his last dispatch against the disease. He was a hometown hero, beloved brother and cherished son. It is said that his smile was contagious, and was prideful to follow in his father's footsteps.
