People Still Wondering If/When Biden Will Be In Rehoboth Beach, Others Enjoy Warm Weather

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Last week we were hearing Joe Biden would be in Rehoboth Beach but today that's not the case.  President Biden boarded landed in Wilmington earlier in the day, but people still questioned if a trip to the coast would impact their routines. Gordons Pond beach and parking lot was closed last night but it's open today. We've been keeping a close eye to see if President Biden would be visiting Sussex County but the latest we've heard is that he's in Northern Delaware but none the less that's not stopping people from coming out and enjoying the nice weather. The last time President Biden and the First Lady came to the coast people were recounting their memories of the couple. Then the two took to Gordons Pond for a bike ride on the trail. Today, many people doing the same with no sight of the President, but still wondering if the trail would close down this weekend with his plans in the air.  Grace Pollack, from Baltimore Maryland said, "We're just so happy that he's our President and just so happy that any inconvenience that Joe brings is fine with us." There has been no word if and when he will come to his North Shores home while in the First State, but for people downtown in Rehoboth Beach it was business as usual on a hot summer day. Cameron James, from Rhode Island said, "And what have you thought about the weather so far? A lot better than Rhode Island! Rhode Island has been pretty crappy, rainy you know that whole sha-bang but this has been nice. 88 degrees you know, it's good!" Many people came off the beach and up to the Watermelon Queens who were handing out free slices of locally grown fruit.  Leslie Webb, the MarDel Watermelon Queen said, "These watermelons were actually grown on Evans Farms in Bridgeville, Delaware and we're just celebrating watermelon today passing them out and hoping everyone gets a chance to enjoy a local watermelon." Their purpose to not only promote the consumption of watermelon, but also all forms of agriculture across the country.
