President Biden's Arrival Outside of the Milford Boys and Girls Club

MILFORD, Del. - Before the funeral for Ruth Ann Minner began, people in Milford got a rare sight of the President's arrival. For some, it was right in their own backyards.

WRDE was there for Marine One's big entrance and what neighbors thought of their brush with President Biden. The President visited Delaware to pay his respects to former Governor Ruth Ann Minner.

The president landed outside of the Milford Boys and Girls club at 12:28 p.m., and he stepped off his helicopter and got into the motorcade shortly after. Trish and Bill Dennison had their lawn chairs out in anticipation of Biden's arrival.

"We love him, I love everything about him. I said if I could be kind of within his aura, that will make my life much happier," said Trish.

First the White House's press pool landed in the ospreys. Then the moment onlookers had been waiting for - Marine One landing on Delaware soil. The president walked off the helicopter in his shades, and gave a wave to the crowd. The reason Biden came home was to speak at Ruth Ann Minner's funeral, the first and only female governor of Delaware.

"She is one of the most remarkable and inspirational people that Jill and I have met ... that our family has have ever known. We met a lot of people, met a lot of successful women at home and internationally. Ruth Ann had something different than almost anybody I have ever worked with," said President Biden.

Once the President said his last goodbyes to Governor Minner, the motorcade arrived back at the Boys and Girls Club. Before Biden got back on Marine One, he stopped and spoke with a group, and shook some hands. The president seemed to be very happy as he chatted with the crowd and posed for a picture!

After the conversation ended, the President boarded the helicopter, and took off. The President got back on Marine One at around 2 p.m., and went to the Port of Baltimore to talk about the infrastructure deal.Â
