Princess Anne Man Arrested on Gun, Drug Charges During Traffic Stop

(SALISBURY, Md.) - Salisbury Police have arrested a Princess Anne man after finding drugs and marijuana in his possession during a traffic stop.

Police said Dre'Onte Nixon was a passenger of a car pulled over for an inoperative tag light. When officers contact Nixon and the driver, Shamaya Boston of Salisbury, they immediately smelled marijuana.

A search discovered 23.8 grams of marijuana and a loaded nine millimeter handgun on Nixon. Police said Nixon was charged with possession of a firearm, felony drug trafficking and CDS with intent to distribute.

Police found less than 10 gram of marijuana and Boston, who was cited and released at the scene.
