Protesters Rally In Dover In Opposition Of President Trump

(Dover,DE) - The Delaware Civil Rights Coalition held a silent vigil and rally in Dover.

Dozens of protesters stood side by side at Legislative Hall in opposition of President Trumps policy's.

Coordinator Charito Calvachi-Mateyko said, "What we have seen at this time is something abnormal. We have not seen and many children have not seen this from any President."

Delaware lawmakers Rep. Paul Baumbach and Sen. David Mcbride spoke at the rally. Both help write a Letter that was sent to the White House.

Baumbach says, "This is not done lightly. I think there is a line that has to be crossed for us to take such significant action."

The President of The Islamic Society of Central Delaware was at the protest and had this to say, ""To me this is not a Muslim issue. It is an issue about our freedom, it is an issue about our civil Liberties and when you start taking that away this country is no different than any other country in the world. Where these right are not afforded."

The Delaware Civil Rights Coalition passed a petition around during the day and will hand that to Delaware Legislation in hopes of stopping President Trump.
