A family dog has tested positive for rabies.
The dog from Houston, just north of the Sussex County line was tested after biting his two adult owners. They were bitten while attempting to put the dog in a kennel and the animal became aggressive towards them.
The dog was not up to date on it's rabies vaccination and had to be put down. The owners have begun treatment for rabies.
Anyone that might have come in contact with the adult, medium-sized male pit bull, red and tan with white markings should contact the rabies program
