Rehoboth Beach Christmas Tree lighting brightens holiday cheer

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- A holiday tradition brightened up Rehoboth Beach Friday night.

The annual Christmas tree lighting saw hundreds of people come out to spread holiday cheer.

The night was filled with shopping, caroling and live music.

This year, the tree is a bit smaller than usual. But that didn't damper any holiday spirits.

"I think it looks great," said Chris Burkhart. "If you didn't know, if you didn't know that it used to be 40 feet, you would have no idea."

People came from all over to see the lights be turned on for the first time, and Santa Claus himself made an appearance as well.
