Salisbury Prostitution Investigation Nets 17 Arrests

(SALISBURY, Md.)- Salisbury Police Department has completed a 5 month long prostitution investigation that has resulted in 17 arrests.

During the months of May 2016, through September 2016, the Salisbury Police Department's Safe Street Team began receiving multiple complaints related to prostitution activities within the City of Salisbury. As a result, the police department initiated a long term investigation into the prostitution complaints that has led to multiple arrests not only for prostitution but also for possessing illegal narcotics.

In May 2016, the Salisbury Police Department initiated an investigation into local prostitution that is being facilitated through various online websites. It was determined that offenders were arranging to meet at area hotels for purposes of exchanging money for sex. Officers were able to intercept the suspects and confirm their intentions through additional investigation.
