Sea Witch Parade returns to Rehoboth Beach after last year's cancellation

REHOBOTH BEACH, DE — Sea Witch 2021 returned to Rehoboth Avenue after the event was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Families gathered along the boardwalk and bandstand to take photos and videos of the event.

The Sea Witch parade started off with the Sea Witch Head, which debuted. The pumpkin, skull, and spider balloons all followed in theme of the Halloween Season.

One couple that attends the festival regularly spoke expressed their excitement for the event to have returned.

"We're pumped, we come here every year, haha," Ari Smith, a festival goer said.

"We just wanted to go as a bunch of bees, the bee family, haha," Greg Krol said.

Rehoboth Beach attracts around 100,000 people, and the Sea Witch festival is one of the largest in the state of Delaware.

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY

For many festival-goers— and their pets, today was their first experience.

"It's out first time at the sea witch festival. so far, this has been a blast. I know Ms. Stella [dog] is loving all the attention, so all round, we're having a great day," Matt Thompson, said with his daughter and dog Stella.

The event had live music from The Jimmies, hot food, cookies, and face-painting, among other activities, mainly for children but also people of all ages.

The 31st Annual Sea Witch Festival continues into Sunday at 11 PM with a dog parade and Fall 5K classic.
