The property at 32490 Lewes Georgetown Highway was, at one point, purchased by the Immanuel Shelter with the intentions of homing the next shelter for the homeless. However, the nonprofit, now named The Lighthouse for Broken Wings, has decided to sell the property and establish a shelter elsewhere in the area.
Since fall of 2019, the organization has pulled together a coalition to plan for the restoration and preservation of the school in Belltown.
LEWES, Del. - On Monday night, DelDOT held a public workshop on the Nassau School, which they say is eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. According to DelDOT, they purchased the parcel of land in 2019.
