The town of Bethany Beach is tackling worsening flooding issues with plans for dredging, a new dam, and studies of vulnerable areas. The flooding, exacerbated by rising sea levels and impervious surfaces, has residents concerned about the future of their homes and infrastructure.
The Griffith Lake boat ramp and parking lot on Williamsville Road near Milford has closed due to dam safety concerns associated with construction activities, according to the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.
Route 24 will be closed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Hollymount Road to Robinsonville Road, according to DelDOT.
The closure will begin Friday and go through the weekend into Monday.
One of the most used bridges on Route 1 will be replaced.
