A grease fire caused significant damage to a home in Hurlock and left a minor with severe burns on Thursday afternoon.
A car fire in Hurlock is under investigation after the 2019 Volkswagen was destroyed on June 12.
On Wednesday, May 22, at approximately 5:02 p.m. the Hurlock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a car fire. The car was located at 6205 Mission Hill Road and was a black 4-door pontiac.
A pole barn caught fire in Dorchester County early Thursday morning. The Office of the State Fire Marshal in Maryland said the 30 by 40 foot barn with a hay loft took 60 minutes to get under control at 4270 Beulah Road.
An official told WRDE it appears that someone put illegal fireworks inside a metal mailbox and closed the door. Because of building pressure and the type of fireworks involved, flaming balls began shooting out of the mailbox.
