The General Assembly is preparing for a special session this summer as public backlash mounts over New Castle County’s recently issued property tax bills. According to House Majority Caucus Director of Communications Jenevieve Worley, a firm date for the session has not yet been announced.
District 20 Rep. Stell Parker Selby has now been absent for at least 133 votes, more than five months worth of the legislative session. However, the House Speaker finally responded to CoastTV's inquiries when staff visited Legislative Hall.
For the second day in a row, Delaware House Speaker Melissa Minor-Brown refused to answer questions about Rep. Stell Parker Selby, who has yet to cast a vote or appear publicly at Legislative Hall since being sworn in remotely on March 24.
The legislative session resumed on June 10 for representatives in the House. However, Rep. Stell Parker Selby is still absent from Legislative Hall.
On Monday, Delaware House Republicans sent a letter to House Speaker Melissa Minor-Brown and Majority Leader Kerri Evelyn Harris requesting answers about Rep. Stell Parker Selby's absence from legislative session.
