Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings has announced a multistate settlement with Amneal Pharmaceuticals over its involvement in the opioid crisis, alleging the company's failure to monitor and report suspicious orders. The settlement includes $92.5 million in cash over ten years and $180 million of naloxone nasal spray.

Officials say one person has died and more than 50 overdoses have been reported in Sussex County since April 26, an increase that has sparked concern among law enforcement and health professionals. Patients have exhibited seizures and been intubated, as recent overdoses have been more resistant to Narcan.

First responders will begin leaving Narcan, a lifesaving medication known to reverse an opioid overdose, behind on calls in which someone who has experienced an overdose refuses transport to an emergency department.

The classroom-style training will offer members of the public an in-depth presentation that will teach them to recognize and effectively respond to an opioid overdose.

NARCAN, a drug designed to reverse opioid overdose, may soon be available over the counter.
