Senate Bill 75, now awaiting a House vote, would limit how Delaware counties regulate marijuana businesses by setting statewide standards for zoning, hours, and permitting. The bill aims to ensure medical marijuana centers with retail licenses can operate without excessive local restrictions.
Sponsors are optimistic that the bill will have enough support to become a reality this time, however last year Governor Carney vetoed a bill to legalize pot possession for recreational use.
House Bill 1 focuses on legalizing possession of small amounts of marijuana for personal use, and House Bill 2 revisits regulating the legal industry of growing and selling cannabis.
House Bill 49 would increase the maximum weekly benefit amount of unemployment compensation from $400 to $450 a week. Rep. Osienski says this will bring Delaware more in line with the benefit maximums of surrounding states.
