A coalition of immigrant rights groups is suing to invalidate the Trump administration's deal to house detainees in a notorious prison in El Salvador. The groups argue the agreement with the Central American country violates the U.S. Constitution. That's because its main impact has been to move detainees outside the reach of U.S. courts so they can no longer claim their legal rights. The lawsuit in federal district court notes that President Donald Trump has suggested he may ultimately send U.S. citizens to prison in El Salvador. Human rights groups have condemned the facility for failing to meet international standards.
