SoDel Fest Returns with New "Taste of Tuscany" Dinner

(MILLSBORO, Del.) - The fourth annual Southern Delaware Wine, Food and Music festival returns to Delmarva this fall season with new event additions to help raise money for local charities.

This year's SoDel fest will be held Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Independence Clubhouse in Millsboro.

Additional pre-festival events are included in this year's lineup, including a specially crafted Tuscan dinner for exclusive guests. Event founder and chair Stacy LaMotta says the "Taste of Tuscany" dinner is limited to just under 100 guests who will enjoy a six-course menu prepared by Bluecoast executive chef Doug Ruley with wines hand-selected from Count Manfredo di San Bonifacio's family vineyard.

"What we wanted to do was recreate dinner in Tuscany," said chef Doug Ruley. So I worked with Count Manfredo on the menu, took some ingredients from the region - wild boar, there's some seafood. So we crafted the menu to go a long with his wines. It's going to be a great night."

LaMotta said the Tuscan dinner will also feature authentic acoustic music.

"We have three great performers. One is going to be on an Italian mandolin. Another is going to be on a nylon guitar. And the third person is going to be on a melodica and it's from the accordion family. They're going to make beautiful sounds that go with this amazing dinner," said LaMotta.

Tickets are still available online at sodelfest.com at $95 per person.
