PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -- Penn beat No. 21 Villanova just five days ago to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Quakers weren't even supposed to be the Hawks' homecoming opponent.
But a game-tying 3-pointer by Elijah Wilson in the waning seconds of regulation and a game-winning triple by the Toledo transfer gave Maryland-Eastern Shore a stunning 83-80 win over Penn in the first meeting between these two programs.
Troy Hupstead propelled the Hawks with a career-high 22 points and 15 rebounds, and all five starters scored in double figures. Clark Slajchert dropped a game-high 31 points in the loss for Penn.
