SALISBURY, MD-- Lower Sussex Little League Softball withstands a 4-hour rain delay to defeat the West (Palmdale, CA) 5-2 to advance to the tournament semifinals

Kinsley Hall got the scoring started early for Delaware. After leading off the bottom of the first with a double down the right field line, she would come in to score on an errant California throw to make it 1-0 Delaware.

Delaware further extended their lead on a Macy Blades RBI double in the bottom of the 2nd to make it 2-0, and another errant throw on a Shaniya Lewis steal attempt of third to make it 3-0 in the bottom of the 4th.

On the mound, Hall was her usual self. She was cruising through 4 innings, striking out five and maintaining a no-hitter before a weather delay halted action in the bottom of the 4th. She would extend her scoreless innings streak to 27 before California put up a pair of runs in the 6th.

With the win, Lower Sussex advances to the tournament Quarterfinals, and will play the winner of the Illinois/Curaçao matchup.
