(Salisbury, Md) Salisbury fire fighters from all three stations responded to a living room fire at 1733 Woodbrooke Drive in Salisbury this afternoon. When they arrived they found that the smoke alarms and residential fire sprinkler had activated. The occupant, Tyler Harwood, entered his home at approximately 12:50 p.m.
According the Fire Marshall's office there was an electrical failure in the HVACV system, sending a power surge to the thermostat which caught fire and ignited nearby combustibles. No one was injured, and damage was estimated at $5,000.
