State Police looking for Drug Suspect

(Newark, Del) - Delaware State Police detectives are seeking the public's help in assistance in identifying a man after a large amount of heroin was discovered in a Newark area motel room late last month.

Troopers were called to the Quality Inn Motel located in Newark, after motel staff discovered a large quantity of suspected heroin in one of the motel rooms. The troopers found the room rented by Jeannette Burgos, 36, of Newark and obtained a search warrant in order to enter the room. They found 2443 bags (36.6 gms.) of heroin inside.

After departing from the motel with the seized heroin, troopers were again contacted by the motel staff and advised that Jeannette Burgos had returned to the motel and was in the company of a male subject. Troopers again returned to the motel in an attempt to detain Burgos and the male, however, they had fled prior to their arrival.

Drug Unit detectives obtained a warrant charging Jeannette Burgos with Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 5 Quantity, Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 4 Quantity, and Conspiracy 2nd Degree. On Wednesday, August 19, 2015 detectives responded to Burgos' residence and took her into custody without incident. She was then arrested and transported to Troop 2, Glasgow. Burgos was arraigned and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution for lack of $101, 500.00 cash bail.
