(GEORGETOWN,Del)-The Delmarva Christian Royals Volleyball team are the reigning Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference Champions.
Head Coach Jim Berger said the team is focusing on being confident on the court and that confidence is showing after a 2-0 start to the year.
"I think we have only done this twice before in the history of volleyball here," said Berger."We started off with Cape and they are a tremendous opponent so it was a good win last Friday night against Cape.
Senior Gabrielle Book agrees that defeating the Cape Vikings in the season opener 3-0 was a big win.
"I think it was awesome," said Book."It meant a lot to us because we have been working hard at that all summer long and all last year since we lost to them and it felt really good to beat them."
Siera Jones said she is happy with the way the season is going so far and they are working well together.
"Even if one of us is having an off day or does not have their head in the game then it can affect the rest of us so we are growing together and having each other back is the main key I think," said Jones.
