Troopers Seek Public?s Assistance in Locating Vehicle of Interest in Fatal Hit and Run

(HOCKESSIN, Del.)- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate a fatal hit and run crash that occurred on DE Rt. 41 in Hockessin late last month, and are seeking the public's assistance in locating a vehicle of interest.

Investigators are looking for a dark gray Sport Utility Vehicle (pictured) that was captured on video surveillance cameras traveling northbound on Lancaster Pike at the time of the crash, which occurred on Sunday, February 28, 2016, and claimed the life Jeremiah McCarthy, 34, of Hockessin. The vehicle, which is believed to be a Ford or Chevrolet, may have damage to its front right side.

Unit members are also attempting to locate the operator of an unknown make and model motorcycle that was also observed on video passing by the scene shortly after the crash occurred.
