Unused Land May Become Dog Park

(Lewes, Del.)- A new Dog Park may be in the works in Lewes.

There is 66 Acres of Land that will be subleased to "Lewes Unleashed" - A nonprofit organization.

The mayor and city council approved a sublease for 4.5 acres of land can be used as a dog park.

The plan was first proposed back in 2011.

Then in 2012, there was a public workshop to discuss the use of the parcel of land.

Besides the dog park other plans included a botanical garden or community garden and a soccer club.

The town promises to keep residents informed as plans move forward.
