(Dover, Del) - The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on Hazlettville Road near Pearsons Corner Road earlier this afternoon.
Preliminary investigation indicates the incident occurred around 2:13 p.m. today, Monday June 8, 2015, as Angela R. Fugate, 37 of Hartly, was operating a 2000 Saturn SL eastbound on Hazlettville Road just east of Pearsons Corner Road entering a moderate right curve. Anthony J. Dellraria, 68 of Camden, was operating a 2006 Pontiac Montana westbound on Hazlettville Road in the same area, when for unknown reasons, the Saturn crossed into the westbound lanes causing the Pontiac to strike the left side of the Saturn. Upon impact, the Saturn spun counterclockwise and came to a stop in the eastbound lanes. The Pontiac also rotated counterclockwise and came to a stop in the westbound lanes.
Angela Fugate, who was not properly restrained, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anthony Dellraria was properly restrained and transported by EMS to Kent General Hospital where he is currently admitted with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident. Hazlettville Road east of Pearsons Corner Road was closed for approximately three hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
