UPDATE: MSP Searching For Salisbuy Man' Killer(s)

(WICOMICO COUNTY, Md.) - A Wicomico County man is found murdered inside his home.

Police have confirmed the victim, identified as James Skinner, died due to a gunshot wound. The Baltimore Medical Examiner's office have ruled the manner of death was homicide.

"Good neighborhood. Everyone walks around, takes walks, runs. Kids are out in the yard playing and everyone gets along," said one neighbor known just as William.

Neighbors were shocked to learn of an early morning murder Sunday.

Salisbury police responded to an emergency call at a home on the 1100-block of Bryn Mawr Drive around 3:30 a.m.

When they arrived on the scene, police say they found the body of 20 year-old James Skinner lying in the doorway of his residence covered in blood.

Skinner was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators discovered Skinner had been living at the residence for about two months with a family friend and her children. The woman and her children were home at the time of the incident, according to Maryland State Police.

Police believe several people entered the home and, at some point, a confrontation erupted between the victim and the suspects where Skinner was fatally wounded.

Evidence shows one or more people were armed inside the home, according to officials.

Neighbors we spoke to say they have no idea what could have led to Skinner's murder.

William, who would only talk to us if his identity was concealed, says the incident has him nervous.

"Do we arm ourselves now to make sure we're secure because this is happening in right our own backyard now?"

WRDE reached out to the victim's family, but they were too distraught to talk with reporters.

We contacted state police for more info, but they told us they didn't have anyone to talk about the case.

Now neighbors are left watching their backs.

"You don't know what may jump out. So we gone have to more safer now," said William.

Police do not know a motive.

This case continues to be investigated by Maryland State Police and the Salisbury Police Department. Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1000 to for information leading to an arrest and conviction. If you have any information regarding this case, you should call state police.
