(PITTSVILLE, Md.)- Several fire companies from Wicomico, Worcester and Sussex Counties are responding to the reported chlorine leak at Pittsville Water Treatment Plant in Wicomico County.
Students at Pittsville Elementary and Middle School, which is about a mile away, are being sheltered in place, police said.
Officers have closed off Gumboro Road in Wicomico County.
Pittsville Elementary and Middle schools have not be evacuated. School officials from the Wicomico County Public Schools say they will continue to monitor the chemical leak.
